I require a minimum 4 day and up to 10 day lead time to collect fresh hatching eggs for you, so please contact me at least one full week ahead of time to place an order. I require a $10 non-refundable down payment at time of order. I do offer mixed packs of hatching eggs available at ala carte prices listed per egg.

Olive/Moss Eggers

Looking to add some COLOR to your basket? These eggs come in three varieties: My purebred Black Copper Marans roosters over Olive Egger hens, Whiting True Blue hens and Moss Eggers hens.

There are two stories that explain the history of the name “Deathlayer”. The first is that they’re a “day layer” and over time this translation evolved into “death layer”. The other is that the name derives from a chicken that will “lay an egg per day until they die”. In either case, they both accurately describe a proficient egg layer that will provide an abundance of medium-sized white eggs. Deathlayers can be a “flighty” breed but when raised with other calmer breeds, they do tend to take on the nature of the flock they are raised in.

Due to their sociable and calm nature, Orpingtons are an excellent breed for beginning poultry enthusiasts and make wonderful pets for families with children who love to participate in caring for animals. The hens are known to go broody and make excellent mothers, while the roosters tend to be gentle, non-aggressive and doting partners.
